Standing Committee

The Standing Committee is the Oxford Union Society's governing body. It meets at 5pm on Monday in term, in the President’s Office, and is chaired by the President. All business except in-camera business is open to members. Members of Standing Committee can be contacted as follows. In email addressed please replace the word ‘AT’ with the symbol ‘@’ and no spaces.

	The President Laura Winwood, Hertford College president AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the overall running of the Society and the organisation of debates.
	The Librarian William Chamberlain, Lincoln College librarian AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the running of the library and the invitation of some individual speakers.
	The Treasurer Dharmesh Nayee, University College treasurer AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and the raising of sponsorship.
	The Secretary Zara McGlone, Trinity College secretary AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the minuting of Standing Committee and the organisation of all social events, including the ball.
	The Junior Steward Constantin Calavrezos, Somerville College junior.steward AT oxford-union.org Responsible for long-term planning, the invitation of distinguished speakers, and liaison with Life Members.
	The President-Elect James Kingston, Christ Church president-elect AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the organisation of debates for next term, his term in office.
	The Treasurer-Elect Poppy Simister, Christ Church treasurer-elect AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the membership drive.
	The Chairman of Consultative Committee (CCC) Joe Cooke, Oriel College ccc AT oxford-union.org Responsible for chairing Consultative Committee and for the distribution of publicity.
	The Returning Officer Anne Ross, University College ro AT oxford-union.org Responsible for the organisation of the Society’s elections, discipline, membership, and the Rules and Standing Orders.

The CCC, The Returning Officer, and The Bursar do not hold a vote on Standing Committee.
